Is it easier to leave or to be left? It’s an ongoing debate, one that has no real end because every partnership so unique. There’s a kind of loneliness that comes with being broken up with, and there’s another kind of loneliness that comes with being so unhappy in a relationship that you end it. In this episode, writer Samantha Silva talks about her loneliness, as the leaver.

Also in this episode, artist Payton Turner discusses her original works for this second season of The Lonely Hour. Payton’s responsible for our logo, too. (Do you like it?)

Until the next episode, I want to know: What does loneliness mean to YOU? Drop me a voicemail with your definition on Google Voice; dial (415) 663-5901—that’s 41LONELY01. Just make sure to include your name and an email address so I can get back to you, because I might use what you said on a future episode.
